Some jetpack action or spheroidal arenas and magnetic boots à la Dead Space would be a winner and if you can fight in space you can fight underwater too.Ģ) More boss variety. How’s about some levels on a huge, abandoned space station. Even Black Ops Zombies had reduced gravity on it’s moon level so you have no excuses Bungie. Your Destiny review was thought-provoking and, whilst I’ve been having a whale of a time playing it, I think (as I’m sure is the prevailing opinion) that to be the ongoing success they need it to be then it needs things to keep it fresh so here are my five probably not so original suggestions.ġ) Zero gravity and underwater. GC: Western developers in general are terrible at boss battles, we don’t know what it is about the concept they can’t seem to get right. Sadly, as you implied, Destiny was generally far too timid in its execution.

Now, I don’t think there would’ve been anything necessarily wrong with Destiny’s bullet sponge bosses if strong ideas in the rest of the game rendered such an approach redundant, much like the Halo series did. Especially the half-soaked final boss (though it could be argued that Halo 2’s entire single=player was half-soaked!) But thankfully, they dropped the idea of bosses for further sequels. But in Halo 2 (perhaps as a response to a vocal minority of hardcore fans), Bungie introduced bosses, and they were awful. If you remember, the original Halo had no bosses at all, and felt fresh and all the better for it. But it’s fair to say that bosses have never been Bungie’s strength. GC: That’s the original subject heading he used too. All of the reviews of the games that have been written are the same format, mind numbing troll fodder. You should definitely choose a different path instead of video game reviews. Probably coming from a GTA5 fatboy who thrives on all filler and no sustenance.

Your review of Destiny is absolutely mind numbing, completely full of opinionated remarks pretending to be insightful and purposeful. In the last few months I have buried myself in Rayman Legends (two Achievements to go!) and am now playing the wonderful Child Of Light, and I can’t think of a single game that is coming out in time for Christmas that will drag me away from either. There was a lot of talk about ‘where did the hype for Titanfall come from?’ before it was released and I have to ask the same question of Destiny – at least Titanfall has giant robots in it!Īfter rapidly losing interest in Titanfall before even the first map pack was released, returning Battlefield 4 as a faulty product, and not buying a Call of Duty game since Modern Warfare 2 I think it’s finally time for me to admit that the whole multiplayer first person shooter genre just isn’t for me anymore. I hadn’t seen anything in the trailers or footage that had got me even slightly excited.
Email us if you want one and we’ll give them out on a first come, first served basis.Īnd so my general apathy towards Destiny has been validated by your review GC.
